Opened in Summer 2013, the St Andrew Square Apartments provide a great central base from which to explore the city. In the bustling East End, the property is just 150 yards from Waverley Railway Station and places you on the doorstep of everything that central Edinburgh has to offer. The old town and Royal Mile are 600 yards stroll away, and a wide variety of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops are located in the immediate vicinity of the apartments. Great transport links to the airport with a tram stop 100m away on St Andrew Square and an Airlink bus stop on Waverley Brdige just a few minutes walk away. This building has a lift from the 1st floor only. There are approximately 30 steps up to the 1st floor.

The car park is located behind the Rutland Residence at 23 Rutland Square, Edinburgh. EH1 2BP. Coming from Lothian Road: If you are headed North on Lothian Road, towards Princes Street (the Castle will be on your right) take a left onto Rutland Street (near the Waldorf Astoria), just before you reach Princes Street. Rutland Street will end at Rutland Square, which will be in front of you. Take your first right onto Rutland Square, and then your first left to follow the square around. You will see 23 on the right just before the end of the square. Take a right after 23 Rutland Square, heading out of the square. The car park will be the right hand side, behind a brown wooden gate. Coming from Princes Street: If you are headed West on Princes Street (the Castle will be on your left) drive until you come to the end of Princes Street. You will need to turn left onto Lothian Road and then an immediate right onto Rutland Street (near the Waldorf Astoria). The instructions from this point are the same as above. To access the car park you will need to leave your car and enter your 4 digit code, which will be the last four digits of the phone number provided at the time of booking. CAR PARKING SPACES ARE LIMITED, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY AND MUST BE BOOKED. COST IS £15 PER DAY

Nelson Mandela Place was originally St George’s Place. In 1981, whilst Mandela was still imprisoned on Robben Island under the South African apartheid regime, he was awarded the Freedom of the city of Glasgow. Glasgow City Council continued its support for the campaign to free Nelson Mandela by renaming the street in honour of the political prisoner in 1986, much to the annoyance of staff in the South African consulate there.
